Question
I have 3 CULLIGAN bottles of RO Water 5 gallon Two of them are fine The third bottle has green spores at the bottom of the bottle What reaction if any has caused this to happen in the third bottle and not in the other two Is there an air leak in the bottle Does age of bottle have anything to do with it The third bottle is 12 years old while the other two are only three years old from the manufacturers date Please reply
Answer
It sounds like algae to me. 3-5 years is far too long to store water even if it were properly processed with ozone prior to bottling. You are far better off to purify it as you need it rather than trying long term storage. You best bet is to purchase an inexpensive water distiller that can make any water safe for daily use or in an emergency.
